CANS Alert Issued for 10 Year Old Washington Girl
Code Amber News Service (CANS) issued this Missing Endangered person Alert after the girl went missing on Friday evening (06-26) while walking home from a friends house in McCleary Washington. McCleary is a small town of about 1,500 residents and is about 15 miles west of Olympia. There is no evidence of foul play in this case but the FBI is joining the investigation and search today (Monday 06-29). The FBI will also be bringing in additional law enforcement personnel to help in the investigation and search. No Amber Alert has been issued in this case.

The State of Washington issued the Amber Alert Wednesday morning (03-17) after the boys were abducted from their home at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma. They are believed to be headed to Oregon.

The State of Oklahoma issued the Amber Alert Monday morning (1-25) after the girl was reportedly abducted by the suspect from her home in Geronimo late Sunday. The girls mother was found dead in the home and the suspect is wanted for questioning in the womans homicide.

The State of Texas canceled the Amber Alert Sunday (03-07) after the victim of the car jacking recanted his statement that the boy was asleep in the car. The child was not in the car. The victim said he thought his car would be recovered quicker if he said the child was taken.

Code Amber canceled this Alert Monday morning (03-01) after the girls was found safe in Sparta, Illinois late Sunday (02-28). The suspect was taken into custody at that time.

The State of Michigan canceled the Amber Alert Friday afternoon after the suspect told police that the child died Monday night at her home and that he had disposed of her body in a trash receptacle near her home. Police continue to search for the childs body.

The State of Virginia canceled the Amber Alert late Tuesday (01-19) after the boys stepfather told police that the boy was not abducted as he previously claimed. Police say they believe the boy is dead and that he apparently died before the stepfather made the initial 911 call. The stepfather is being held for questioning and no charges have been filed. The boys mother has also been questioned.
