The State of Missouri canceled the Amber Alert Wednesday afternoon (10-24) after the girl was found safe and the suspect arrested. No further information is available at this time.
The State of Missouri issued the Amber Alert Wednesday morning (10-24) after the girl and the suspect went missing from the girls home in Poplar Bluff between 10 PM Tuesday night and 6 AM Wednesday morning. Poplar Bluff is about 120 miles South East of St. Louis. The Suspect is a registered sex offender.
Abigail Berthoff a bi-racial female 5 years old, with black hair and brown eyes, 4'10" tall and weighs 90 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink, princess nightgown.
The suspect is Jeffery Dean Shelton, a 46 year old white male, 6' tall, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.
Ther suspect vehicle is a silver 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with Missouri tag # PJ8 Z5M.
