Sophia Juaraz, 5 year old Hispanic female with black hair, and brown eyes is missing from her home in Kennewick Washington..

She was last seen wearing blue overalls, a red shirt and white tennis shoes. She is missing four of her top front teeth.

Abduction is suspected although there is no suspect information at this time.

The girl's father, Andres Garcia, 26, was contacted by police at his place of employment near Pasco and was "very cooperative," said Korenza Trujillo, a spokeswoman for Benton County Emergency Services.

Sofia disappeared about 9 p.m. Tuesday, a day before her fifth birthday, shortly after she asked her mother, Maria Juarez, 20, if she could go to a Kennewick store five blocks away with her grandmother's boyfriend.

"We are still treating it as an abduction," he said. "We have searched the immediate neighborhood, and gone out to rural areas and open farms. Obviously, this child isn't anywhere around."

The Fraternal Order of Police has offered a $5,000 reward for the safe return of Sofia.

"Any leads that we did have originally have proved negative," Dopke said. "We have no suspects at this time."

The little girl apparently left her house about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Maria Juarez, 20, who had given her daughter $1, said she assumed the child got a ride with Jose Lopez Torres, who was making the short drive to a neighborhood market about six blocks away. Torres is the boyfriend of Sofia's grandmother. He, the two women and Sofia shared a house with Maria Juarez's six brothers.

No one saw Sofia leave the house or get into the car, police said. When Torres returned from the market about 45 minutes later, he told Juarez he did not know where Sofia was or that she had wanted to go to the store with him, police said.

Torres has been cleared in the investigation, Dopke said, as has Sofia's father, Andres Garcia, 26, of Pasco.

Garcia "has an alibi and has assisted in the investigation - and is no longer considered a suspect," Dopke said.
