Code Amber canceled this Alert Monday morning (03-01) after the girls was found safe in Sparta, Illinois late Sunday (02-28). The suspect was taken into custody at that time.
The State of Iowa issued the Amber Alert Monday afternoon (02-22) after the girl was abducted in Council Bluffs earlier Monday. The child is considered to be in extreme danger. The suspect is considered to be suicidal and armed and dangerous
Janakaye Marie Lee, a white female, 14 years old, 5' 9", 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white hoodie a gold top with black straps and a pink bra.
The suspect is Steven Keith Hecker, a white male, 19 years old with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Nebraska sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The suspect vehicle is a a black 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse with Iowa license number 532 TLT.
