Amber Alert cancelled for 2 Louisiana Children Posted: Friday November 17, 2006: 12 noon CST

On November 22, 2006: the suspect saw the Amber Alert, and turned herself in to authorities. The children have been recovered safe.
On November 19, 2006 7 PM CST, the AMBER ALERT which was issued on Friday, November 17, 2006 for Demond Winfrey and Demonte Winfrey was cancelled. According to information provided by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, there is evidence the children are no longer in Louisiana. Based upon this information, the Louisiana AMBER ALERT is no longer practical. Their investigation is on-going at this time.
The Louisiana State Police and the Saint Martin Sheriff's office issued the Amber Alert on November 17, 2006: after the children were abducted from the Tech Elementary School in Cecilia La.
Demonte Winfrey, a black male. He's got short black hair and brown eyes. He's 5 feet 100 pounds. He's 10 years of age and was last seen wearing a Red Polo shirt with navy blue pants.
Demond Winfrey, a black male. He also has short black hair. He's got brown eyes. He's 5 feet 3 inches tall and is 11 years of age. He was also last seen wearing a Red Polo shirt with navy blue pants.
The children are believed to been abducted by Laquita Mathis Dob: 7/17/1975 (aka Laquita Winfrey or aka Kimberly Bosley). She is described as a black female with spiky hair and a dark complexion. 5’7” and 135 lbs.
She was last seen driving a white mid size sedan possibly a Maxima or a Ford Taurus. Possibly headed towards Texas.
