North and South Carolina Amber Alert Canceled for 12 Year Old Girl

The Amber Alert was canceled Wednesday afternoon (09-26) after the child was found safe in South Florida. The girl and the suspect we located by Hallandale Beach Police and the suspect was taken into custody.

The States of South and North Carolina issued the Amber Alert Monday (09-24) after the girl was abducted in Newport, North Carolina. The suspect is a registered sex offender.

Abigail Faith Lefevers a white female 12 years old, with brown hair and green eyes, 5'4" tall and weighs 90 pounds. Her hair is shoulder length.

The suspect is Timothy Howard Newman, a white male, 38 years old, with brown eyes, short brown hair, 5'8" tall and 210 pounds.

The suspect vehicle is a1998 Red Chrysler Sebring with North Carolina tag # AKT6534.
